When To Call A Plumber

Posted on

If you have problems with your plumbing it can be tempting to do the repair yourself. There are a few things that you will be able to take care of, such as a simple clog. However, most of the time it is wise to hire a professional plumber to take care of the plumbing problems. There comes a point when you will do more damage than good. However, it can be hard to know exactly when to call a plumber to fix a situation. Here are just a few situations when you should call a plumber.

Hot Water

A major problem that can arise in your house is a lack of hot water. There are many different variables that can be causing this to happen. If the water tank is leaking, you will be able to diagnose this, but other causes can be very hard to find. An electric heater could have problems with the circuit breakers, fuses, bad thermostats, and many other problems. If you have a gas heater you could have problems with the burners and the igniters. Either way you are going to want to have a plumber come to the home and have a look. They will be able to diagnose the problem quickly and fix it efficiently.

Clogs

If you have a septic system, one of the worst things that you can do to fix a clog is use a liquid clog remover. Septic systems rely heavily on bacteria to break down sewage. With a city sewer system or a septic tank, the best way to get rid of a clog is with a pipe snake or a pipe auger. However, there are times when the pipe might be kinked due to water hammer or other pressures. In this case it is going to be very important to have a plumber look at your pipes. If you have tried multiple times to remove a clog and are unable to do so, make sure that the plumber is on his way.

Low Water Pressure

If your family is experiencing a lack of water pressure, there could be a number of factors contributing to the problem. There can be rust buildup or even chemical scale buildup that is blocking the water from flowing. No matter what the problem is a good plumber will be able to come into your home and diagnose the problem. Once the problem is diagnosed they will be able to fix it, so you can have a nice hot shower.
