Major Signs You Need Well Repair

Posted on

When your well needs repair there are often signs that you cannot afford to ignore. These signs will come from how the well is functioning. Once you notice them you must move as quickly as possible.

Getting the well fixed quickly is the only way to make sure that it is available for use whenever you need it. With that being said here are the major signs you need to look out for to show that your well needs urgent repair.

Water Pressure Shift

The first obvious sign you will notice is that there is a shift in the water pressure. This will make you uncomfortable because it will normally be very obvious when you are taking a shower or doing some important tasks such as washing your dishes.

Once you notice this heavy fluctuation, call someone to get your well repaired.

Noises from the Pump

One of the things you will start to notice when there is a problem with your well pump is that there will be unusual sounds. It's not uncommon for a well pump to make a lot of noise when there is something wrong with one of the parts.

Wear and tear happens and this is normal over time. You must take action to get it fixed as soon as you can.

You may also notice that the pump is going non-stop. This is also not a good sign. A well pump that is functioning properly will usually cycle on and off.

This consistent running is what spiked your electrical bill. Rising electrical costs is often one of the major signs that your well is malfunctioning.

Contaminated Water

A hard-to-miss sign that something has gone wrong with your well pump is when you notice that your water has become contaminated in some way.

If you turn on your faucet and you are getting water from it that is full of sand and dirt, something is not quite right with your well. Needless to say, this is a situation that you cannot afford to continue for much longer.

It's best to get your well repaired as soon as possible or your well will become unusable very quickly.

If you are noticing any of the signs that have been discussed here it's best to take action as soon as possible. Once your well starts malfunctioning there's usually no going back. The only way to make things better is to get it repaired quickly.
